Frommer's Review
This tiny museum holds the personal collection of Jacinto Jijón y Caamaño, an Ecuadorian who did extensive archaeological excavations in South America in the 20th century. In my opinion, the most interesting artifacts are the fardos funerarios, or funeral bundles, that he discovered in Lima in 1925. You will see mummies and all sorts of jewelry and learn about pre-Columbian funeral rituals. Also impressive is the display of exquisite colonial furnishings. You can see the entire collection in about 30 minutes. Admission includes a guided tour; most of the guides are bilingual.
