The best cheapie in the city, the Splendid was once a grand hotel that has aged gracefully. Surrounding a pleasant courtyard, the spacious, high-ceilinged rooms are pretty simple but functional, with firm mattresses and big, old wardrobes. Some rooms come with large, private bathrooms, and those without have a basin with hot water. The plumbing can be a bit dodgy at times, but everything is kept sparkling clean. The reception staff is always friendly, though reservations are difficult to make if you don't speak French. It's about a 10-minute walk from Rabat Ville station.
