Instead of hightailing it from the capital, consider breaking up your journey and enjoying some of the marvelous luxury and architectural heritage on offer between Delhi and Jaipur. We highly recommend overnighting at Neemrana Fort-Palace on your way into Rajasthan (it's not far from Delhi, and many Indian families head there for Sun lunch); from here you can move on either to Jaipur or directly into the Shekhawati region. Stay at Amanbagh after your tour of Rajasthan, and set aside at least 2 nights for the unadulterated pampering you'll receive; the state can be hard work, filled with tourist crowds in winter, and a stay at Amanbagh will ensure you return home rested and restored.
