Frommer's Review
This is the best, most posh, and most upscale steakhouse in Raleigh -- the kind of classy, hard-drinking, and indulgent grill room where Sinatra and his Rat Pack might have felt very much at home. Opulent and full of machismo, with an open-to-view kitchen and lots of exposed brick, it emulates a Chicago-style steakhouse with a speakeasy aura. A resident butcher trims the steaks artfully, and a bar area (which some guests enjoy even more than the restaurant) near the entrance is for whiling away time before your table is ready. Here live jazz begins every evening at 5:30pm. Past guests have included former Sen. John Edwards, as well as local sports coaches and players. Steaks come in two-fisted portions of rib-eye, filet, porterhouse, and New York strip. Lamb, veal, chicken, and a selection of fish (ahi tuna steak and tequila-and-lime-flavored shrimp) are also available.
