Frommer's Review
The Edgewater has the most units of any resort on the island, and like The Rarotongan Beach Resort & Spa , it draws many visitors on package tours. Although thick tropical foliage helps make the grounds -- just 1.6 beachside hectares (4 acres) -- seem less crowded, you won't have nearly as much room to roam here. Several concrete two- and three-story block structures hold most of the rooms. Each has a bougainvillea-draped patio or balcony. Rooms in the 400 and 500 blocks are closest to the beach and farthest from the restaurant, bar, and swimming pool, which can be crowded and noisy when the house is full. Farther removed and much better appointed are the more expensive beachfront suites. The majority of these have whirlpool tubs in their spacious bathrooms. Their balconies or patios open directly to the sandy beach, which the main part of the property doesn't enjoy, since rocks line most of the shore in front of the pool and expansive patio space for sunning and sitting.
