This is a good choice for cost-conscious travelers who can't get into Vara's Beach House . The Tairea family constructed this peaked-roof building specifically with backpackers in mind. A central hallway runs between the relatively spacious rooms, which have ceiling fans, screened windows, and two or three single beds that couples can push together. The communal kitchen is large enough so that everyone gets a cupboard, and the shared bathrooms have hot-water showers and are fully tiled (as are all the floors here). Muri Beach is a short walk away.
