Getting There -- Buses from Amalfi leave for Ravello from the terminal at the waterfront at Piazza Flavio Gioia (tel. 089-871009 for schedules and information) almost every hour 7am to 10pm, costing 1€ ($1.30/65p) one-way.

If you have a car and are in Amalfi, take a circuitous mountain road north of the town (the road is signposted to Ravello).

Visitor Information -- The tourist office, Piazza Duomo 10 (tel. 089-857096), is open daily 10am to 7pm (until 8pm in summer).

Special Events -- The hilltop town is known for its summer Ravello Festival. Internationally famed artists sometimes appear. The venues range from the Duomo to the gardens of Villa Rufolo. Tickets, which you can buy at the tourist office, start at 20€ ($26/£13).
