Frommer's Review
With a history dating from 1885, this is Ravenna's most charming boutique hotel. It's small but choice, housed in a meticulously restored palace from the 1300s, although much altered over the years. It boasts such classic features as 15th-century frescoes gracing the corridor. Even though it's old, it was overhauled completely in 1998 when it entered the modern world with up-to-date amenities, although the wine cellar and the architectural style of the splendid rooms were retained. The various color schemes inspired the names of the rooms: Yellow Gem, Green Gold, Rose and Roses. Painted beamed ceilings and terra-cotta floors are grace notes from another time, but the furnishings are modern, either contemporary in style or else reproductions of antiques.
