Those seeking a "night on the town" often drive over to Konstanz nearby. Life is considerably quieter in the more demure Reichenau after dark. Most visitors who come in summer prefer to sit out on one of the lakeside terraces -- called Terrassen am See in German -- enjoying the beer, the company, and mostly the romantic views of the town at night. The best of these are at the two previously recommended hotels, Seehotel Seeschau and Strandhotel Löchnerhaus. When the weather is foul, the best place for a drink is the Kaminstube, also at the Seehotel Seeschau.
