Just outside of the downtown district, this deluxe resort is notable for its friendly service and comfortable rooms with high-rise views of the city and mountains. The tropical-theme resort doesn't exactly resemble its namesake, but it makes for a good stay -- provided you stick to rooms in the high-rise tower and avoid the cheap Motor Lodge rooms. Splurge on a Concierge Tower room (floors 21-27), which offers 20% more space, oversize tubs, terry robes, luxurious linens, and butler service. Recent renovations have included an all-new race and sports book, a new and expanded spa, and brand-new fitness center. The casino also claims Reno's only four-star, smoke-free poker room.
