While it isn’t going to knock the Blue Lagoon off its pedestal anytime soon, for many this mammoth complex that opened in 2004 is more than enough to fulfill their hot-water needs. Owners have spared no expense to wow patrons with the latest in super-deluxe spa and fitness technology. Features include indoor and outdoor pools, exhaustive beauty and massage treatments, and a health-food restaurant. The six saunas and steam rooms are set at different temperatures, and each has a thematic fragrance. Among the indoor and outdoor spa baths, choose freshwater or seawater. One pool is designed exclusively for foot soaking. To visit the “relaxation cave,” which has a 20-foot-wide waterfall, you must have your retina scanned at reception; then at the cave entrance, your eye-print is acknowledged and the doors snap open. Children can be left in their own playrooms or watching movies while you attend to yourself.
