Not only the facades of this row of seven mid-19th-century Greek Revival town houses, but their garden dependencies (small, separate buildings) have remained intact. Original interior features, such as fireplaces, marble mantels, and crystal chandeliers, grace the town houses, which the National Trust for Historic Preservation has officially designated a Historic Hotel of America. Rooms in the houses, all with windows nearly reaching the 12-foot ceilings, have a mix of late-Empire and early-Victorian pieces, with marble-top dressers. Garden rooms overlook a walled garden and patio, and the garden dependencies of the town houses offer accommodations with private entrances and contemporary-look furniture.
