Frommer's Review
For a special night out, there's no place like The Copacabana Palace. At Cipriani's, always a top contender for Rio's best restaurant, every dinner guest receives five-star treatment. The elegant dining room overlooks the hotel's swimming pool and courtyard, both magically illuminated at night. Reserve early to book a window table. The menu is mostly classic Northern Italian, with every dish prepared with care by chef Carli who used to cook at the Hotel Cipriani in Venice. One of his fortes is the pasta -- hand prepared and always fresh. Try the cannelloni with mixed cheeses, fresh tomatoes, and basil or the Zuchini Tagliatelli and codfish ravioli. One of Carli's outstanding meat dishes is the thinly sliced lamb served with a goat cheese ravioli and Dijon mustard tartellete. If you feel like splurging order the tasting menu (R$180/US$75 or R$295/US$123 with wine pairings); you'll savor the experience long after the last bite.
