Corned Beef & Co. Bar and Grill

A block west of Market Square, this lively sports-bar emporium -- the largest one of its kind I've ever seen -- occupies half a city block. There's a sophisticated billiards parlor and beaucoup TV screens for watching every game being televised at the moment. You can even watch from a rooftop patio during warm weather. Having a good time may be the main reason to come here (it literally overflows with young folk on weekend nights), but the chow is better than average pub fare: deli sandwiches (including the namesake corned beef), salads, wood-fired pizzas, and main courses such as chicken diablo (a breast piqued with Texas Pete hot sauce). I'm particularly fond of the shrimp and asparagus quesadillas.
