Rochester has a surprisingly lively dining scene. Much of it is clustered around two areas, East Avenue, or the so-called "East End entertainment district," and Park Avenue and Alexander Street. Two restaurants worth visiting, especially when you're out sightseeing, are actually located in museums: Cutler's (tel. 585/473-6380) is an upscale option just off the modern sculpture gallery at the Memorial Art Gallery, serving lunch Tuesday through Sunday, 11:30am to 2pm; and Bill Gray's Skyliner Diner (tel. 585/232-5284) is the Strong Museum's authentic 1950s diner, with food that kids will love. For good BBQ, and a rollicking time, also check out Dinosaur Bar-B-Que.
