Walking Tours

Rome is a great city for walking -- be sure to allow yourself enough time to just wander and let yourself get lost. Those of you who want more guidance in your exploration might enjoy the walking tours we've designed in this chapter. Visitors with very limited time might want to concentrate on Walking Tour 1, "Rome of the Caesars," and Walking Tour 2, "The Heart of Rome." Those with more time can try out "Renaissance Rome" and "Trastevere." These tours serve both to string the sights together and to reveal some lesser-known hidden gems along the way.
