Frommer's Review
Set in an exquisite 18th-century structure on a cobblestone street behind Piazza Navona, this cafe-restaurant opens onto a delightful small square of vine-draped taverns. Behind the ivy-covered facade, the interior is completely hand painted; white candles illuminate the marble bar, making for a cozy, inviting atmosphere. The owner, Mr. Giuseppe, tries to make visitors appreciate Italian food and traditions, and he succeeds admirably. Almost all his dishes are handmade, and the cooks use only the freshest ingredients, such as Parmigiano, fresh vegetables, and extra-virgin olive oil. Recipes are simple but rich in Mediterranean flavor. Try wonderful pastas made with fresh tomato sauce, garlic, and pasta, or opt for something heavier, such as braised beef or tender grilled steak flavored with herbs and served with potatoes.
