Frommer's Review
This choice fulfills a need for more vegetarian restaurants and lighter, low-fat fare in Rome. Most people call ahead for an outdoor table, although on summer days you might prefer the smoke-free, air-conditioned inside. The more popular of the oversize salads are the baires (lettuce, rughetta, celery, walnuts, apples, Gorgonzola) and siciliana (lettuce, rughetta, sun-dried tomatoes, green olives, corn, hard salted ricotta). Also on the menu are dishes such as gnocchi verdi al gorgonzola (spinach gnocchi with Gorgonzola sauce) and pasta integrale (whole-wheat pasta in tomato-and-basil sauce). For the true carnivore, a few meat dishes are also served. The branches near Campo de' Fiori and near the Vatican (mentioned under their respective neighborhoods) offer the same basic menu, which can be a refreshing relief after too many days of heavy meals and rich sauces.
