Frommer's Review
This is one of the few places you can stay on Via Veneto without going broke (although it's not exactly cheap). Set behind the dignified stone facade of what was a 19th-century mansion, the Alexandra offers immaculate guest rooms. Those facing the front are exposed to roaring traffic and street noise; those in back are quieter but have lesser views. The rooms range from rather cramped to medium size, but each has been recently redecorated and filled with antiques or tasteful contemporary pieces. Among the extras are swing-mirror vanities and brass or wood bedsteads. The breakfast room is especially appealing: Inspired by an Italian garden, it was designed by noted architect Paolo Portoghesi.
Facilities:
Room service; laundry service; dry cleaning; rooms for those w/limited mobility; nonsmoking rooms
