Frommer's Review
You're obviously paying for the million-dollar view, but you might find that it's worth it to be across from the Pantheon. (Okay, so you're above a McDonald's, but one look at the Pantheon at sunrise, and you won't think about Big Macs.) This building was constructed in 1450 as a home, and the first records of it as a hostelry appeared in 1467, making it one of the world's oldest hotels. The layout is amazingly eccentric -- prepare to walk up and down a lot of three- or four-step staircases. The guest rooms vary greatly in decor, much of it hit or miss, with compact, tiled full bathrooms. The rooms opening onto the piazza still tend to be noisy at all hours. The quieter rooms overlook the quiet courtyard, but we always prefer to put up with the noise just to enjoy one of the world's greatest views. For the grandest view of the Pantheon, ask for room no. 106 or 108.
