This family-run guesthouse was founded in the 1940s but was recently renovated, adding private bathrooms to each guestroom. It occupies most of the second floor of a five-story 1870s apartment house, with high-ceilinged rooms that were originally much grander but whose noble proportions are still obvious. Three of the five rooms have balconies overlooking the street. The Giuggioli is always crowded, partly because the rooms are larger than expected and have a scattering of antiques and reproductions (although the mattresses could use replacing).
If this place is full, walk a few flights up to the similar Pensione Lady (tel. 06-3242112), where up to seven rooms might be available at about the same rates.
