Named for the fabled painter, this small hotel is for those who prefer quiet streets. It lies about equidistant to the Stazione Termini and the Colosseum. With its inviting Roman hospitality, it is somewhat like a B&B. The surrounding area is a bit scruffy but reasonably safe. The hotel is spread across a three-floor terraced building, with basic but clean rooms, each well maintained. The best accommodations open onto small balconies. Bathrooms are midsize, and five have Majolica tiles; the rest are tiled with marble. The Prette family is welcoming and provides guests with much help and useful suggestions, such as how not to get ripped off in Rome.
