Getting There

Most visitors take a train to the main station at Avenida Andalucía (tel. 95-287-16-73 or 90-224-02-02; www.renfe.es). Three trains arrive from Granada per day. The trip takes 2 1/2 hours and costs 12€ ($19) one-way. You can also visit Ronda from the Costa del Sol where one daily train makes the 2-hour trip from Málaga to Ronda, costing 9€ ($14) one-way. Two trains daily connect Ronda and Madrid. The trip takes 4 1/2 hours and costs 60€ ($96) one-way.

The main bus station is at Plaza Concepción García Redondo s/n (tel. 95-218-70-61). There are five buses a day from Seville, taking 2 1/2 hours and costing 13€ ($21) one-way. There is also service from Málaga, taking 2 1/2 hours and costing 11€ ($18) one-way. Also on the Costa del Sol, Marbella runs five buses per day to Ronda, taking 1 hour and costing 8€ ($13) one-way.

Major highways circle Ronda, but you'll have to take winding, circuitous, and secondary routes to reach the town itself. From Seville, take N-334 southwest. When you reach the small town of El Arahal, continue south into Ronda along C-339. If you're in Granada, take N-342 west to the junction with N-332; then take N-332 southwest to the junction with C-339, which eventually winds its way southeast into Ronda. If you're on the Costa del Sol, you can reach Ronda from Málaga traveling northwest via the scenic C-344, or from Marbella northwest on C-339.
