Hotel Monte Mulini

When the Monte Mulini took its place as Rovinj's first true luxury hotel during the 2009 season, it was an instant sensation. Built at a cost of 200 million euros on the site of a former Socialist hotel, the Monte Mulini is a completely new structure and signals a commitment to the upscale hotel market for its parent Maistra. When you walk into the Monte Mulini's street level reception area the first thing you see is a dramatic two-story wall of glass that looks out at the Adriatic and down on a terraced pool and sunning area. From then on, everything is a revelation. Corridors are illuminated with lights that subtly change color. Suites are in a separate building ringed with scented gardens that afford privacy. Guest rooms are in the main building, and even the lowest priced room has a large bathroom with a shower that is separate from the tub, an array of Angelo Caroli toiletries, and a sea view. For the ultimate relaxation experience, try the floating bath in the plush spa. It's a 40cm-deep (15 1/2 in.) tub filled with water with such a high concentration of salt that you stay suspended in water.
