Frommer's Review
Right in the center of Windwardside, funky Scout's Place, a dive resort, is hidden from the street and set on the ledge of a hill. With only 13 rooms, it's still the second-largest inn on the island. The old house has a large, covered, open-air dining room, where every table has a view of the sea. It's informal, with a decor ranging from Surinam hand-carvings to red-and-black wicker peacock chairs to silver samovars. Guest rooms open onto an interior courtyard filled with flowers, and each has a view of the sea. The rooms are small and rather plain, except for the four-poster beds; many have linoleum floors and tiny TVs. The best units are on the lower floor, as they have French doors opening onto balconies fronting the ocean. Furniture is haphazard. Bathrooms are small, with showers only. The apartment with kitchenette is suitable for up to four.
Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; outdoor pool; dive shop; laundry service
