If you'd like to dine in one of the loveliest places in the area and enjoy a refined cuisine at the same time, leave Salisbury and head for this previously recommended hotel . It's a 14km (9-mile) drive to Teffont Evias but well worth the trip. The village itself is one of the most beautiful in Wiltshire.

The elegantly appointed restaurant showcases a finely honed cuisine prepared with first-class ingredients. The menu changes daily but is likely to feature such starters as a terrine of marinated venison, pheasant, and wild boar with pistachios, or else pan-seared king scallops with a spicy rocket salad and a lemon-grass couscous. Main courses are very appealing with well-balanced flavors, as exemplified by the oven-baked filet of monkfish with Parma ham in a mussel and saffron broth or the roast breast of mallard with a confit of duck leg along with pan-sautéed foie gras and game gravy.
