The national park covers 2,850 hectares (7,043 acres) and is home to several volcanic summits including Mt Fito, the highest point on the island at 1,100 meters (3,609 ft.). It is the habitat for the endangered Tongan fruit bat or flying fox (Pteropus tonganus).
