Dr. Peter Cafarelli, an Italian who lived on Savai'i for more than 30 years, founded this resort facing Faga Beach and an emerald lagoon speckled with coral heads, Savai's most colorful. It's now managed by his son, Paul Caferrelli, who recently added 12 modern bungalows with most of the comforts of home plus outdoor showers. You can dine inside or outside on a porch at Parenzo's Bar/Restaurant, notable for its wood-fired pizzas (3 nights a week) and fresh local fish. The accommodations here are as modern as any on Savai'i, you'll be more isolated than on the north shore.
