What this motor inn lacks in ambience, it makes up for in its friendly staff, walkability in a lively neighborhood, and free parking. Thought it’s not much to look at from the outside, its proximity to the Golden Gate Bridge and great bars and eateries makes it a worthy contender for the budget traveler. Rooms and bathrooms are just a step above basic, but they were completely renovated in 2012 so they’re sparklingly new with fresh bedding, desks, and entertainment units, sleek black and white furnishings, and perks like minifridges, microwaves, and coffeemakers. Free parking, Wi-Fi, and continental breakfast add to the very good deal.
