Hipster heaven, the San Juan Water Beach Club is almost a beachfront resort (you have to walk on a small path next to the parking lot to get to the sands but can see the water from most guestrooms). Rooms are sleek aqua-and-white affairs, with polished stone floors, rainfall showers and I-Pod docking stations. Unfortunately, they have little closet and dresser space, and the walls are thin, so noise between rooms can be a problem. The lobby and lounges are trendy affairs, with projections that make the walls look watery, and billowing curtains and artwork that carry on the ocean theme. The property has a hopping 11th-floor bar with the Caribbean’s only rooftop fireplace and beautiful dining and lounges areas, as well as a rooftop pool and sundeck.
