Homewood Suites -- This reasonably priced all-suites hotel near the River Walk, with in-room kitchen facilities and two TVs per suite (each with its own VCR) -- not to mention a guest laundry -- is extremely convenient for families.
Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort -- In addition to its many great play areas (including a beach with a shallow swimming area), and its proximity to SeaWorld, this hotel offers Camp Hyatt -- a program of excursions, sports, and social activities for children ages 3 to 12. The program fills up fast during school breaks and other holidays, making reservations mandatory.
O'Casey's Bed & Breakfast -- Usually B&Bs and family vacations are a contradiction in terms, but O'Casey's is happy to host well-behaved kids. Best bet: Stay in the separate guesthouse with the fold-out bed, and then join the main-house guests for breakfast in the morning.
Omni San Antonio -- This hotel's proximity to the theme parks as well as in-room Nintendo and various other Omni Kids features makes the Omni appealing to families.
Radisson Hill Country Resort -- Seasonal specials such as the Ultimate SeaWorld Adventure package provide passes, transportation, and complimentary souvenirs for both you and the kids.
Terrell Castle -- Those with relatives stationed at nearby Fort Sam Houston who'd rather stay at a B&B than a chain hotel will enjoy this unique lodging. It's very welcoming to children.
Westin La Cantera -- It's close to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, it's got two pools just for children, and it offers the Enchanted Rock Kids Club -- an activities program for ages 5 through 12 -- from May through Labor Day.
Westin Riverwalk Inn -- Though not as family-friendly as the Westin La Cantera, this Westin on the River Walk still offers such amenities as free in-room movies, a kids' treat pack upon check-in, and bedtime stories told over the phone.
