Twin Sisters ReviewThis bakery/cafe isn't a bad choice if you've overindulged on Tex-Mex during your stay and are looking for something light and wholesome. Eggless and meatless doesn't mean tasteless here; you can get great Greek salads, spicy tofu scrambles, and salsa-topped veggie burgers. Carnivores can also indulge in the likes of ham, pastrami, and salami sandwiches on the excellent bread made on the premises. Tip: This place serves a lot more locals than visitors, and fills up by 11:30am but empties after 12:45pm, so plan your visit accordingly. A branch in Alamo Heights, 6322 N. New Braunfels (tel. 210/822-2265), has longer hours (Mon-Fri 7am-9pm; Sat 7am-3pm; Sun 9am-2pm) and live music on Friday nights. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
