Frommer's Review
Not as well-known as many of San Antonio's glitzier culinary stars, this restaurant -- in the back of a Broadway strip mall -- can match them any day (or night). The setting is nothing special-white draperies and sunny antiqued walls lighten an otherwise dark room with a low ceiling. But once the food arrives at the table, you won't care if you're dining inside a concrete bunker.
For starters, consider tempura-battered sushi, (an oxymoron to the ear but a delight on the tongue); the delicate and crispy spring rolls of shrimp, pork, and mushrooms; or a zesty crab salad with avocado. Stellar entrees might include baked sea bass in truffle oil with artichoke hearts (yes, the restaurant's specialty is seafood). Call the cuisine Indochine -- it's a mix of French and Vietnamese -- or call it French fusion, as the menu does. I call it delicious.
