Frommer's Review
This high-rise hotel connected to the Rivercenter Mall has access to the river, and is close to the Alamo, HemisFair Park, and the convention center. It has a lot of rooms and consequently does a lot of convention business. The location is great for shoppers and sightseers alike.
Guest rooms are attractive and comfortable and most afford good views of the city. But they aren't readily distinguishable from those at other upscale hotel chains. Convenience is definitely a plus here -- free washers and dryers on the same floor as the health club, allowing you to bicycle while your clothes cycle is just one example. If you find all this convenience -- and the bustle that goes along with it -- a bit overwhelming, an option is to stay at the smaller Marriott Riverwalk across the street. This slightly older and less expensive sister hotel has equally comfortable Southwest-style rooms, and its guests have access to all the facilities of the Rivercenter. All rooms are nonsmoking.
