The restaurants in downtown Bariloche, unlike the hotels, are an excellent value. The best are on the road to the Llao Llao Peninsula; even if you're not staying in town, you'll probably find yourself coming here to dine. Service, however, is not a highlight of the dining experience. In the high-season months of July, January, and February, consider eating early (before 9pm) or making a reservation. Otherwise you may spend the evening walking around town looking for a table. We've found the starred restaurants below to offer the best overall service, quality, and variety in the city. But remember to be patient with the waitstaff at the rest of the establishments listed below, and always allow plenty of time for lunch (2 hr.) and dinner (3 hr.).
