The Casita Suiza lives up to its name with a roster of Swiss dishes, such as smoked pork, sauerkraut, and apple strudel, and a wide variety of international meat and fish dishes. Service is impeccable at this restaurant owned by the children of Swiss immigrants; the owner's mother still bakes fresh cakes and tarts daily using old family recipes. Fondues are an excellent value, at $8 (£4.40) per person. If you like to participate in preparing your meal, choose the pierrade, a platter of various meats, sauces, and potatoes that you grill at the table, for $10 (£5.50) per person. Call ahead to see if they're open for lunch, as their daytime hours are erratic.
