Frommer's Review
Serenity, silence, and highly personalized service make this remote retreat one of the Lake District's newest treasures. Far off the typical tourist route, each of the 10 rooms here enjoys lovely views across the Campanario Arm of Nahuel Huapi Lake. The design and construction are very natural, from stone and wood walls to cement floors. Thick Mediterranean-style walls have curved ceilings and dark hallways. Rooms are large, with earth-toned blankets, cozy nooks, and a blend of modern and recycled furniture. Rustic bathrooms have large tubs and spotlights. All have either a balcony or a patio. Downstairs, an in/out pool and serene spa are deeply relaxing. Sirius, the inn's boutique bistro, is very good. Ten minutes down a dirt road on the coast of the San Pedro Peninsula, Aldebaran is a compelling hideaway. (Media junkies be warned: Rooms don't have TV.)
