Despite its previous life as the Pierce Street Annex, Matrix Fillmore remains one of the young and yuppies' hottest singles scenes. Those already spoken for can still appreciate the slick lounge atmosphere of candlelight, dyed concrete floors, flatscreen TVs, and free-standing centerpiece fireplace with its "Zen minimalist" mantel. Though it hosts a martini and mojito crowd, the bar also offers 10 wines by the glass and a large by-the-bottle selection including cult classics like Dalla Valle. Drinks range from $7 to $10. Valet parking available at the nearby Balboa Café (Fillmore and Greenwich sts.).
