Beyond the obvious but playful name, this hotel has a funky, run-down charm. The Hi-Et is family-run, clean, and secure. The three-story wooden building housing this place is located on a corner in the heart of the town, and features a wraparound veranda and some interesting gingerbread trim work. There's a room set in a dormer jutting through the roof and constituting the third floor here. While this room is pretty small, it's also quite private and charming. This is one of the best of the bottom-of-the-budget hotels in San Ignacio, and it's often full.
