Frommer's Review
This hotel is geared primarily to business travelers, but it's a good choice for anyone looking for a big, dependable luxury hotel near downtown San José. Wooden headboards, angular window nooks, and other small architectural details give these rooms an edge over those in the Aurola Holiday Inn and Clarion Amón Plaza, although it's not quite as convenient for walking around downtown. For a modest price increase, you can opt for an executive room, which is basically a standard room with a coffeemaker, a scale, terrycloth bathrobes, and an extra telephone in the bathroom. The junior suites come with all the above amenities, as well as a desk and chair, in-room fax machine, and small balcony. Both the executive rooms and suites have wireless Internet access. The hotel features a well-equipped gym that is part of the local Multispa chain. This hotel is particularly well-located if you are driving to or from the Caribbean coast, as it is set right off the main downtown entrance to the highway to Guapiles.
