Frommer's Review
On the north edge of the historic Barrio Amón neighborhood, this hotel is a pretty dependable business-class option. There's nothing particularly distinctive about the property or rooms here; however, in terms of service, location, and price, this hotel gets my nod over the nearby Holiday Inn. The rooms are all spacious, well kept, and come with plenty of amenities. And you are close to all the downtown action. I recommend paying the extra $30 (£15) for the executive-floor rooms, which get you free happy hour food and drinks, a separate lounge area, and more recently upgraded and furnished rooms. While the food is merely average, the ambience of their little outdoor, sidewalk cafe, El Cafetal de la Luz, is delightful. There's also a fairly swank casino on-site. You can usually do a bit better than the rack rates listed below if you book through www.choicehotels.com.
Facilities:
Restaurant; bar; lounge; casino; small exercise room; Jacuzzi; sauna; tour desk; modest business center; babysitting; laundry service; nonsmoking rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
