The Corridor: Between the Two Cabos -- The 29-kilometer (18-mile) Corridor between the towns of San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas contains some of Mexico's most lavish resorts. Most growth at the tip of the peninsula is occurring along the Corridor, which already has become center stage for championship golf. The five major resort areas are Palmilla, Querencia, Cabo Real, Cabo del Sol, and Punta Ballena, and each is an enclosed master-planned community sprinkled with multimillion-dollar homes (or the promise of them). All but Punta Ballena have championship golf, and all but Querencia, which is a private residential community, have ultra-luxury resorts within their gates. If you plan to explore the region while staying at a Corridor hotel, you'll need a rental car (available at the hotels) for at least 1 or 2 days. Even if you're not staying here, the beaches and dining options are worth investigating. All hotels listed here qualify as very expensive. Most resorts offer golf and fishing packages, as well as free parking. Rates listed do not include tax.
