Frommer's Review
This is one of the most elegant Italian restaurants in San Juan, with a courtyard containing covered tables. It's located in a 3-century-old town house, a short walk uphill from Catedral de San Juan. The entrance is filled with dozens of photographs of owner/chef Franco Seccarelli with friends and well-known patrons, the most notable being Luciano Pavarotti. Dishes and flavors are perfectly balanced. Examples include shrimp salad (usually a mundane dish, but quite special here), scallop salad, perfectly marinated fresh salmon, veal entrecôte with mushrooms, and medallions of beef flavored with balsamic vinegar. In season, there's an emphasis on black and white truffles, although these ingredients can raise the dish price substantially. Want something adventurous? Try the black pasta with crayfish and baby eels.
