This new restaurant down a pedestrian passage just uphill from the ferry landing became an instant hit with locals when it opened in 2005. There's no view and it's a bit hard to find, so most tourists never make it here, which is their loss. The food menu is short and changes frequently to take advantage of whatever is fresh, while the wine list is long, featuring excellent wines from all over the world. Whether you just need a few light snacks to go with a glass of wine or a filling dinner, you'll be happy with the menu. Small plates and sides make up the bulk of the menu, so you can piece together a dinner that fits your appetite. If you spot anything with the strawberry-soy vinaigrette, give it a try. Just don't order too many dishes before you make it to the dessert menu. I like to eat downstairs with a view of the open kitchen, but the loft level is quieter and makes a good place for a romantic dinner.
