The most popular clubs in town are those where you can sit down to a late supper or drinks and hear guitarists and vocalists. Most of the music is romantic -- trovas, or ballads. In the downtown area, a number of bars offer this kind of entertainment, usually on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Play, Carranza 423 (tel. 444/814-7034), is a popular dance club for 20-somethings.
