Frommer's Review
Perhaps the loveliest hotel in San Luis, the Westin offers comfort and service in surroundings that exemplify how contemporary Mexican architects have worked the elements of colonial architecture to achieve an aesthetic that is new, without being divorced from its past. The rooms are along a three-story stone arcade that surrounds a broad courtyard. All are large, carpeted, and decorated with flair. They come with either two full- or one king-size bed, a writing table, and a small dining table. Bathrooms are large, with marble tiles, countertops, and shower/tub combinations. Suites are even larger and offer a stereo with a CD player, a large whirlpool tub, a safe, and bathrobes. I prefer the rooms that have an interior view of the courtyard. The center of town is 15 to 20 minutes away by car.
Facilities: Restaurant; bar; small heated outdoor pool; access to nearby health club w/tennis and racquetball; fitness center; concierge; tour desk; car rental; airport transportation; business center; executive business services; 24-hour room service; babysitting; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms

Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
