La Raclette ReviewThe design of this appealing inn is a cross between something you'd find in Morocco and Switzerland -- molded white stucco interiors set off by carved wooden shutters and eaves. It might also be described as a Hobbit House -- anyone over 1.8m (6 ft.) tall might have to stoop, the ceilings upstairs are so low. Impressive renovations in 2007 make it appealing to those who like modern design. On a quiet street, La Raclette has a cozy seating area and a bar and restaurant downstairs. The public areas and the rooms have nooks and crannies and lovely modern art on display. Rooms have charisma, and they are remarkably private considering the small room sizes inherent in an old house like this. All bathrooms have jetted tubs. The hotel exudes a lot of warmth. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
