Rio Hermoso Lodge ReviewSometimes a place just gets it right. There is sublime luxury to be had at this delightful mountain lodge that's on the Seven Lakes Road south of San Martín de los Andes. It's natural without being rustic, peaceful without being too isolated. A gentle river streams by, birds chirp above, and one feels deeply relaxed. Inside, the background color is white, but with the presence of much wood and the dotting of such bright colors as purple, yellow, and pink, the lodge feels alive and energetic. Rooms have giant windows overlooking the greenery. Bathrooms are a mixture of wood and stone, with large windows. A suite upstairs is ideal for families. Outside, there are paths leading through lush forests. This lodge also makes a good coffee break if you are driving the Seven Lakes Road. Just call first. | 3 stars | Frommer's Exceptional |
Frommer's ranks every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment it reviews for quality, value, service, amenities, and special features using a star-rating scale, an expression of the strong compare-and-contrast opinions that are a brand hallmark.
Other ratings provide stars based primarily on price and amenities; the Frommer's star rating is meant to quantify the kind of intangible, experiential elements that help travelers make informed decisions.
The "baseline" recommendation is zero stars--every hotel, restaurant, attraction, shop, and nightlife establishment that Frommer's chooses to review is recommended; otherwise, we simply wouldn't include it.
