Frommer's Review
Those who can't find the charm in church bells and firecrackers going off at all hours of the night will appreciate this hotel, as will those who are traveling with children. Set on the side of a narrow canyon, the hotel is above and a little removed from the central part of town. A fence surrounds the grounds, with terraced gardens and the ruined remains of an aqueduct for a touch of local character. Rooms, especially deluxe units and suites, are large; many have vaulted brick ceilings, small terraces, and beautifully tiled large bathrooms. They are furnished and decorated in modern Mexican style. The junior and one-bedroom suites have living areas and, in some cases, a dining area for four. Six suites have kitchenettes. Superior rooms and villas come with a king or a queen bed; the deluxe rooms and suites have a king or two queen beds. There are also two-bedroom suites, which are the equivalent of a one-bedroom suite with a deluxe room attached.
Facilities: Restaurant; bar; 2 small outdoor pools (1 heated); golf and tennis at local club; exercise equipment; outdoor whirlpool; game room; concierge; tour desk; courtesy car; room service; in-room massage; babysitting; laundry service; dry cleaning; nonsmoking rooms
