Don’t let the location on a drab side street near the train station put you off. This cheerful pensione on the upper floors of an apartment house is a delight and offers its guests a friendly welcome, along with some of the best-value lodgings in the resort area. A lounge, bar area, and dining room are airy and spacious and flooded with light, with gleaming white-tile floors, blond-wood furniture, and doors leading out to a wide terrace. The large guest rooms are also cheerful and are equipped with the trappings of much more expensive hotels—pleasant modern furnishings and soothing pastel fabrics, TVs and minibars, small but modern and well-lit bathrooms—and almost all enjoy sea views, about half from wide balconies. Almost all the rooms have air-conditioning. It’s best to check beforehand to make sure yours does, if you’re arriving between May and September.
